The postal services on the BES islands and Curaçao have been licensed to Nieuwe Post N.V. NPNA  is a monopolist for distributing transactional letters below 2 kilograms.

Others can distribute items in this category as long as delivery times are faster. A wide range of providers currently provide services delivering parcels heavier than 2 kilograms or deliver lighter parcels at a higher speed.

Recently BT&P surveyed these service providers for registration purposes and drafted a policy that will make official registration of these providers mandatory. This law is still pending approval. Once in place, BT&P will have the tools to control and supervise the postal provider network of the BES islands and Curaçao.
