Telecom Services
BT&P knows its stakeholders and understands their business. Apart from being highly knowledgeable about all current and emerging technologies BT&P employs highly motivated and experienced professionals and -where necessary- seeks the expertise of external experienced consultants and specialists. This enables us to provide a vast array of services to governments, telecom providers, postal providers and the general public. A selection of the extensive BT&P's services is listed below for quick reference.
- Advice One of the most important tasks of BT&P is to advice the government on a broad range of issues varying from telecommunications and postal aspects.
- Frequency Spectrum Management BT&P drafts the frequency plans for the islands and manages the frequency registry. It supervises the licensees and allots radio frequencies.
- Radio Communication BT&P ensures orderly and interference-free usage of frequencies, by monitoring the use of radio frequencies and resolving interferences in radio communication installations.
- Numbering plan BT&P drafts the national numbering plan and the policy for allotment of numbers. It also manages the numbering plan registry .
- Supervision of network peripherals BT&P is responsible for setting technical standards for both telecommunication networks and network peripherals. It does so by testing and inspecting the equipment against established technical requirements.
- Licenses The Licensing department is responsible for drafting and issuing permits and concessions needed for telecommunication purposes on the islands.
- Radio exams The requirements for radio exams are set by BT&P in accordance with international regulations. BT&P also conducts the examinations, thus ensuring knowledge of the radio users. Certificates can be obtained for Radio Operator (VHF, General and Restricted) and Radio Amateur.

- Postal affairs Although still in a developing process, this division is responsible for postal policy, licenses, service providers, registration requirements and conditions as well as supervision of the monopolist and couriers. In addition it must also establish policy for tariffs.
- Address user interest BT&P ensures that basic telecommunication services- so called universal services- as well as basic postal services are available in all inhabited geographical areas and for all social groups at affordable prices.
